Stampin'B Design Team #34 Challenge

This card I made for a card challenge. I've never attempted a card challenge, but thought I'd give it a try. As it turned out being the computer genious that I am, I couldn't figure out how to post it. I love making cards so that's ok. I'll figure it out next time. I used my QuicKutz Silhouette to cut the card face with leaves. It's actually a card in itself but I cut it and used it as a card face. I embossed the leaves with Tim Holtz Distress embossing powder. I used Stampin' Up leaf punch and paper,  Paper Studio Fiber and Robin's Nest dew drops and the Cuttlebug.  I scrunched the leaves to give the card texture.

Pat's Birthday

This card was made for my sister Pat's birthday. Did you ever have someone you had no idea what kind of card to make? That's my sister. She's loves to cook and shes great. She missed her calling by not becoming a chef. She's that good! She comes over every Sunday and cooks dinner. My mother and I always look forward to Sunday's.
I used Stampin'Up paper and stamp set Voila and Voila to Go. I think this set was made for my sister. I colored the chef and cake with Prismacolor Watercolor pencils and mineral spirits. I use mineral spirits so that I have more control of the color. The tag was cut with Nestabilities and Cuttlebug.
She really enjoyed the card.

I'm gonna brag on the Silhouette again. The New York frame was cut with the Silhouette. I think I could sell that machine. I do use it allot. There's more of those New York apples!

Ma's 90th Birthday

Here she is! She doesn't look 90, does she? What a great occasion. I was a day to remember for her and for me. It was a total surprise to her. I don't know how I managed to pull it off. I almost slipped a couple of times. I was very excited because all three of my kids were going to be their and my grandchildren. It was the first time the kids had been together in 10 years. My youngest hadn't seen his nieces and nephew. We went to my daughters home in Louisiana. I made her a DVD with pictures of her grandparents and her mother. I had great pictures of her growing up until present time. Some of the pictures where her in her teens. The bathing suits!!! I had big band music playing. She watched it 2 or 3 times. I caught her swaying to the music. She was cute. I believe it was a hit!
This is the card I made for her. It's not the greatest photo. I love the color combination.  The stamp is Rachelle Anne Miller. She's a cutie!! Someone sent me the foliage accents. I wish I knew how it was, cause I have found so many uses. I don't believe I can make a card without flowers.

U Pick

You can't get'em any fresher than that! This page is from New York last August. We try to do as much as we can while we're their. When I say we, I mean my mother and I. These pictures are from a local orchard where we picked apples. This is my cousin Mary Pat. As you can see, not all the apples made it to the basket. NY has the juiciest apples you've ever had.
The apple tree was cut with the QuicKutz Silhouette. I added dimention stickers for some pop.

Falls At Night!

This is the American Fall. The small fall to the right is called the Bridal Veil. They start lighting the falls in the evening and by midnight the falls are in full color. The colors in this photo are very true. It's a spectacular site to see. My mother and i spent 6 hours just looking at the falls. All right, it was me and I made her stay their all that time. The orange on the left side of the picture is homemade paper. My daughter-in-law showed me how to make paper and lets say, it's a work in progress. The flowers and the leaves were cut with the Silhouette.

Niagara Falls New York

My fellow cardmaker and friend suggested I put on some of my scrapbook pages. I would of thought of that eventually. I learned to scrapbook before I learned to make cards. My scrapbook history is simple. Someone asked me to go to a scrapbook class, that I didn't really want to go to. I figured it was an escape from the house. Well.....the next day I was at Hobby lobby. I bought 1000 sheets of paper. No, I didn't make a mistake. :) It was 1000. I was totally hooked! That was on the 12th of September. By Christmas I had made 5 pretty large scrapbooks for my kids as gifts. My daughter has 6 books and I've started another for Christmas. This is one of my scrapbook pages from our family reunion trip to New York last year. My mother and I went on a day trip to Niagara Falls. One of my favorite things to do is slice pictures. There's three photos spliced together. It shows the Niagara River flowing over the Canadian Fall, also called the Horseshoe Fall. This fall is on on the Canadian side.

I won't play with the layout again!

I thought I had to have a fancy blogskin. No, I don't think so. I really messed things up. I lost my widgets and it wouldn't let me upload pictures. I really goofed! I need to put all the old posts on this blog. It might take some time, but I'll get it.
I made this card for my 13 year old granddaughter. I used Stampin' Up paper, my favorite. I cut the butterfly, scalloped oval and flourish with my Silhouette from QuicKutz. It's the easiest cutting machine I've used. A good friend introduced me to 6 x 6 cards and I love making them. There's so many things you can do and lots of room to work with. I love to embellish!!!
